§ 24-11. Enforcement.

  • The violation of any provision of this chapter or zoning violation or permit condition imposed pursuant to this chapter may, in the discretion and at the direction of the planning and zoning director, result in:

    (1)

    Denial of permits or approvals for the subject lands until the violation is corrected;

    (2)

    Issuance of a notice of violation by the planning and zoning director and the initiation of code enforcement proceedings pursuant to chapter 12, including fines pursuant thereto.

    (3)

    A civil action in circuit court to enjoin the violation or for damages or any other relief available under state law.

    (4)

    The referral of the matter to the state attorney for possible criminal prosecution. Any person violating the provisions of this chapter shall be prosecuted pursuant to F.S. § 125.69, with a maximum fine not to exceed $500.00 or imprisonment in the county jail not to exceed 60 days, or both.
